Supporting the Community at the Compass Project by Camphill Wellbeing Trust
Thanks to the Camphill Wellbeing Trust, we had an unforgettable volunteering day supporting the team who are dedicated to sustainable living, strengthening the community, and creating inclusive spaces where everyone feels welcomed.
The facilities were initially built for the Aberdeen Convalescent Hospital in 1897 and were later used by the International and Waldorf Schools. The Compass Project is now giving them a new life, helping to preserve a space that has been serving the local community for over a hundred years.
Our tasks for the day were wonderfully varied…
Some of us rebuilt a shed to provide a safe and organised space for essential tools and supplies.
Others expanded the parking area to make it more accessible for visitors and volunteers...
Whilst a few of us rolled up their sleeves for gardening work, pulling weeds and spreading new compost in the organic garden.
Volunteering at the Compass Project reminded us of the power of community. Even though we were there for just one day, we know that together with the contributions of many other volunteers, we're making a real difference.
Here's to more days like this – that leave your hands dirty, your heart full, and your spirit lifted!
